Lead decontamination
Stripping and demolition of lead-based paints and finishes with strict dust control.

Where lead is found
Paints applied before the 1980s often contain lead. The risk arises when they are sanded, stripped or demolished: the dust is toxic, especially for children and pregnant women. Work must therefore limit dust and keep it inside the work area.
- Old interior and exterior paints
- Trim, doors and window frames
- Painted steel structures and railings
- Wall and ceiling finishes
- Old solder and piping
Why hire a specialist
- 01
Low-dust methods (chemical stripping, component removal) instead of dry sanding.
- 02
Containment of the work area and HEPA vacuuming to prevent contaminating other rooms.
- 03
Appropriate respiratory protection and hygiene for workers.
- 04
Waste handled according to its contamination level.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my paint contains lead?
With a sample analysed in a laboratory. We can take samples before the work starts.
Can we just paint over it?
Encapsulation is sometimes possible if the paint is sound and the surfaces will not be disturbed. For renovation or demolition, removal is the better option.
Is lead dangerous during renovation work?
Yes, especially as dust. Sanding, stripping and demolition release particles that can be inhaled or swallowed. Young children and pregnant women are the most vulnerable.
Which buildings have lead paint?
Mostly those built before 1960. It can still be found in buildings built up to 1990, particularly on trim, windows and exterior surfaces.
How much does the work cost?
It depends on the surfaces to treat and the method chosen. We provide a free quote within 24 h.
